Eligibility Requirements
To register to vote in Texas, you must:
- ✓ Be a United States citizen
- ✓ Be 18 years old on or before Election Day (17-year-olds may vote in a primary if they will be 18 by the general election)
- ✓ Be a resident of Caldwell County and the State of Texas
- ✓ Not be finally convicted of a felony, or have completed your sentence
- ✓ Not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court

Texas law requires voter registration applications to be received 30 days before an election. Applications may be mailed, delivered in person to the Elections Office, or submitted online via the Texas Secretary of State.

Texas law requires voters to present an approved photo ID when voting in person. Accepted IDs include:
