Four Justice of the Peace courts serve Caldwell County — one per commissioner precinct. Handles traffic citations, small claims, evictions, and civil matters up to $20,000.

Justice of the Peace courts handle Class C misdemeanor citations, small claims (up to $20,000), debt claims, evictions, repair and remedy cases, and occupational driver's license petitions. Each precinct has its own judge and staff. All pleas must be submitted in writing — phone calls do not constitute a court appearance.
