Services & Permits

Wedding Ceremonies

Judge Haden performs wedding ceremonies in the 2nd floor courtroom or on the south side of the Courthouse.

  • Fee: $100.00 (cash only)
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • By appointment only
  • Must have valid Texas marriage license
  • License valid after 72-hour waiting period
  • License expires 90 days from issue date
Mass Gathering Permit

Events expected to draw large crowds to unincorporated Caldwell County require a Mass Gathering Permit from the County Judge's office.

  • Download and complete the application packet
  • Return to the County Judge's Office
  • Submit well in advance of the event date
Courthouse Grounds Use

Use of the Caldwell County Courthouse Grounds for events requires prior approval through the County Judge's office.

  • Event locations determined by County Judge's Office
  • Lawn Protection Guidelines must be followed
  • Contact office for application
Filming Permit

Film productions using the Caldwell County Courthouse or grounds must obtain a filming permit from the County Judge's office.

Indigent Burial / Cremation

Caldwell County provides assistance with burial or cremation costs for qualifying indigent residents through the County Judge's Office.

  • Application must be completed and returned to the office
  • Subject to eligibility review

About the County Judge

The County Judge is the chief elected official of Caldwell County and serves simultaneously as the presiding officer of the Commissioners Court and as the judge of the County Court. The position is elected countywide to a four-year term.
