Texas voters must present one of seven acceptable forms of photo identification: a Texas driver licence, a Texas Election Identification Certificate, a Texas personal identification card, a Texas handgun licence, a U.S. military identification card with photograph, a U.S. citizenship certificate with photograph, or a U.S. passport.

If you do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of those, you may complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present a supporting document: a government document showing your name and address (including your voter registration certificate), a current utility bill, a bank statement, a government cheque, a paycheque, or a certified birth certificate.

Yes. Tell an election official that you need help — you do not have to prove a disability. You may be assisted by any person you choose who is not an election worker, by two election workers on Election Day, or by one election worker during early voting.

You may not be assisted by your employer, an agent of your employer, or an officer or agent of a union you belong to.

The person assisting must take an oath that they will not try to influence your vote and will mark the ballot exactly as you direct.

Curbside voting is available to any voter who has difficulty walking or standing for long periods. When you arrive, have someone with you notify an election official, or call the number posted at the curbside sign.

A provisional ballot lets you vote when your eligibility is in question — for example if you do not have acceptable identification, your name is not on the list of registered voters, or you have applied for a ballot by mail that has not been cancelled.

The Early Voting Ballot Board decides after the election whether the ballot counts. You will be mailed a notice within 30 days telling you the outcome.

If you voted provisionally because you lacked acceptable identification, you must visit the Elections Office within six days of the election to present identification or complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration.

A limited ballot is for a voter who has moved to Caldwell County from another Texas county and whose registration here is not yet effective. You may vote a limited ballot only during early voting, and only at the main early voting location.

You will be asked to complete an Application for Limited Ballot, and you will not be eligible to vote in county or precinct races.

Electioneering is prohibited inside the protected area during the voting period. That includes expressing a preference for or against any candidate, measure or political party, whether or not it is on the ballot — on clothing, badges, or in conversation.

Handguns are prohibited in a polling place.

Certain recording devices are prohibited within a room in which voting is taking place.
